Saaremaa Pet Shelter: Notice, care and support!

Every home does not need an animal, but every animal needs a home. Abandoned cats, and sometimes dogs, arrive at our shelter from streets, sheds, forests, and unfortunately also from homes where they are no longer wanted for various reasons. We have always 150-200 cats waiting for a real home in our Cat Home and shelters. More than 200 cats move to a new home each year. All these cats have been treated, micro-chipped and neutered. No animal is euthanised without a medical indicator or a sound justification.

All this requires a lot of money and effort. We rely mainly on donation, while we also receive some support from the Saaremaa rural municipality that pays for 14 days of maintenance per animal. Except for two full-time cleaners, we all volunteers and all the donated funds are spent on animal care. Your donation helps us rescue more animals who are injured, hungry or mistreated. The more money we have the more capable we are and the more animals can havea prospect to find a warm and loving home through us.

• For €5, we can buy 1kg of high-quality cat food, 2kg of chicken hearts, or 2 worm treatment pills.
• €10 pays for one microchip or 2kg of cat food.
• €25 pays for 2 neck vaccinations or 5kg of cat food.
