Crisis Programme for Children and Youth “Let’s help children in mourning!”
How does your donation help?
The Crisis Programme for Children and Youth offers support to children who have lost a close family member. Your donations help us organise grief support camps for them.
Every year, hundreds of children lose one or both of their parents. Timely and professional help will help those children regain a positive outlook towards the future, do better at school, as well as prevent behavioural, health and addiction problems among kids.
The cost of a camp day (meals and accommodation) is ca. 20 euros per child, which does not include transport, camp equipment and other expenses. All services offered in the grief support programme are free for families.
We organise grief support camps for children for 14 days a year, giving kids an opportunity to spend time with peers who have had similar experiences, participate in grief counselling individually and in group settings. Camp days are also filled with fun events (sports, workshops, performances, day trips, etc.).
The Crisis Programme for Children and Youth was founded in 1995. About 120 bereaved children take part in the programme every year and 85-90 children spend time in camps. The next camp organised will be the 60th. The feedback we’ve received from families and kids has been very positive.
The organization is included on the list of income tax incentive non-profit organizations and the donors will get back the income tax paid from their donation and the donations made by companies are tax-free (Estonian Income Tax Act § 49). Read more about taxes: Donating and taxes.
