An argument into every school bag provides argumentation education to Estonian counties to improve young people's argumentation, critical thinking and self-expression skills.
The latest results of the PISA test showed that only one in seven Estonian 15-year-olds makes a difference between fact and opinion. In today's saturated information space, young people need knowledge to help them make informed choices.
Through donations, we provide mentors to primary and secondary school teachers to help integrate the debate method into the lesson and / or to support starting the debate hobby education classes. Mentors help teachers in schools all over Estonia, also giving young people with fewer opportunities access to high-quality argumentation education.
The mentor's workload is about 5 hours a month and based on the teacher's average salary, the cost of one academic year is 675 €. In addition to donators, the mentoring program is also supported by the Estonian Debating Society and schools. The mentor contributes
- 1 hour with a donation of 5 €,
- 2 hours with a donation of 10 € and
- 5 hours with a donation of 25 €, ie the entire month.
The aim of the Estonian Debating Society is to improve the quality of argumentation, critical thinking and self-expression skills by supporting the availability of debate education and reasoned public debate.

The Estonian Debating Society (EVS) has been engaged in argumentative education in Estonia for the past 29 years. The debating society works with the mission of instilling the mindset that a stronger argument can be determined in social dialogue, and developing the necessary skills for this. Based on this goal, the Debate Society today has four directions. The direction of deliberative education aims to make quality argumentation education available to every young person in Estonia. The competitive debating course allows young people to engage in competitive debating. The direction of media and society monitors public debate, assessing the quality of social discussion as well as creating argumentative content in the media. Fourthly, the training company SpeakSmart OÜ, which grew out of the Debating Society, trains public, private and third sector organizations based on the EVS mission.

Substitute Teacher Programme: to ensure that students do not have gaps in their subject knowledge
Every day, schools need to find substitutes for a number of teachers (teachers fall ill, attend training, go on holiday, participate in projects, etc.). It really matters to us that no pupil has a gap in subject knowledge.
