Junior Achievement - practical training of entrepreneurship into every school in Estonia!
How does your donation help?
The goal of Junior Achievement Estonia is to make practical education about entrepreneurship and economics (the best example of which is the student company programme) accessible at every school in Estonia. Studies show that people with student company experience are twice as likely to create their own company later on, they are also more flexible, solve problems more efficiently and have more determination to go after their goals.
During the academic year of 2016/17, there were 320 student companies operating in 95 high schools, primary and vocational schools. Although this number has increased, more than half of young Estonians graduate without having received entrepreneurial education from school. We would like to reach at least ten new schools each year. In order to achieve this, we do outreach work in schools and local governments, train new teachers and focus on sparking an interest towards business among young people. In addition, we want to raise and harmonize the standards of student companies – we train student company members, update and add supplementary learning materials and involve business mentors in coaching.
