There are approximately 40,000 cancer patients in Estonia, plus those who have already got better and family members of cancer patients. According to a study conducted by the Estonian Cancer Society and Praxis in 2013, more than 50% of cancer patients would need psychosocial counselling after receiving their diagnosis or during their healing process; this option is not currently offered to them.

We would like to provide very different forms of creative therapy to cancer patients, including music, visual arts, dancing and movement. A lot of cancer patients have to deal with psychological tensions, social isolation and, in the case of loss of employment, with economic difficulties as well. Creative activities help patients find themselves and feel like valuable members of society. It might not be possible to change a situation, but you can change your point of view and attitude.
In addition to creative therapies, we are also planning to organise the III conference for cancer patients in 2018.

The Estonian Cancer Society was established in 1992, replacing its predecessor, the Estonian Scientific Society of Oncologists, in order to make cancer fighting activities more efficient and to engage the general public in the fight against cancer.

The organization is included on the list of income tax incentive non-profit organizations and the donors will get back the income tax paid from their donation and the donations made by companies are tax-free (Estonian Income Tax Act § 49). Read more about taxes: Donating and taxes.
