By supporting JA Estonia, you help bring an entrepreneurial mindset and essential financial literacy to school students. JA Estonia has been providing practical entrepreneurship and economics education in Estonian schools since 1992. We work to ensure that Estonia has more entrepreneurs, smart consumers, and entrepreneurial employees. Research shows that young people who have participated in a student company during school are almost twice as likely to start their own business, are more flexible, solve problems more effectively, and achieve their goals more confidently.
JA programs from primary school to upper secondary school have reached 230 upper secondary, basic, and vocational schools, yet nearly half of young people still finish school without any entrepreneurship education. We aim to increase the number of student companies to 750 per year, meaning that 3,000 students annually would gain real entrepreneurial experience. To achieve this, we raise awareness in schools and local governments, train new teachers, and spark young people’s interest in entrepreneurship. In the coming years, our focus is on entrepreneurship education in rural areas and vocational schools. To raise the quality of student companies, we train their members, update learning materials, and involve business mentors in the advising process.
A monthly donation of €8, or €96 per year, = one potential young entrepreneur for Estonia.
€90 per year covers JA Estonia’s costs for one student participating in the student company program for a school year. This includes training, fairs, competitions, and counselling.
€24 is the cost of the upper secondary school economics textbook for gaining basic financial and economic literacy.
€75 covers one student company’s participation in the Estonian Student Company Fair, giving young people invaluable sales and communication experience. The €75 covers the fair’s preparation and implementation costs, inventory rental, catering, and advertising per participating company. Nearly 400 student companies and 1,200 young entrepreneurs took part in the 2025 Estonian Student Company Fair at Kristiine and Rocca al Mare shopping centers.
