Autism Society of Tallinn and Harju County: “Functioning support groups for families"
How does your donation help?
The Autism Society of Tallinn and Harju County organises monthly group meetings in Estonian and Russian for family members of people suffering from autism spectrum disorders.
We would like our support groups to be accessible to everyone who need them, but it is often very difficult to find babysitters for children with autism spectrum disorders. We have 12 support group meetings every year and we would like to offer child-minding services for up to 10 children with autism during these meetings.
The Autism Society of Tallinn and Harju County was established in 2013 and it belongs to the nationwide umbrella organisation, the Estonian Autism Society. The society has already organised 32 support group meetings in Estonian and Russian, a family day, a summer camp and a field trip for children and youngsters with autism spectrum disorders to the Tallinn Airport. The society also cooperates actively with education and rehabilitation institutions and includes specialists who work there in its support groups.
Donations help us ensure a sufficient number of instructors in support groups and at the summer camp, as well as allow us to invite the best autism specialist to speak at support group meetings. We hope to collect 3,000 euros via the donation environment.
The organization is included on the list of income tax incentive non-profit organizations and the donors will get back the income tax paid from their donation and the donations made by companies are tax-free (Estonian Income Tax Act § 49). Read more about taxes: Donating and taxes.
