Eestimaa Looduse Fond „Aita kaitsta Eesti metsa!“
How does your donation help?
Estonia is rich in forests. The wealth and strength of a forest comes from its diversity. A diverse forest is one that is inhabited by very different species, incl. rare species. Great diversity makes forests more resilient to damage and increases the regenerative capacity of forests in the case of significant disturbances (storms, fires, etc.). The extremely intense forest management of the start of the century has put immense pressure on species living in old forests.
In addition to the biota of old forests, other species also need attention and conservation of their living conditions. A lot of species need dead trees, natural water regime, preservation of some large trees, etc., to stay alive.
You donations help us implement effective activities for the protection of Estonian forests – be it promoting science-based forestry principles in the Estonian forestry policy, cooperation with forest owners to enhance sustainable forest management, cooperation with forest companies to ensure transparency in the forestry sector, or raising awareness of the biggest problems in forestry.
The aim of the Estonian Fund for Nature, which was established in 1991, is to conserve Estonian nature and its diversity.
