How does your donation help?
Not every home needs an animal, but every animal needs a home.
There are homeless, abandoned and abused animals in every corner of Estonia, including Saaremaa. The cat colonies that have emerged as a result of the uncontrolled breeding of cats, where diseases are spreading and members are in urgent need of medical care, are also a major problem.
The main activity of our organisation is to help solve these problems. Our goal is to help all animals in need by providing them with a safe temporary shelter and finding them a warm and loving forever home. We also carry out small and big sterilisation campaigns to reduce the emergence of potential new cat colonies.
The number of cats waiting for their forever homes at our Cat Home and temporary homes is stable at 250-300. Every year, 100-150 cats move to their new homes. Every animal in the shelter receives all the necessary procedures for rehoming – they are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and given anti-parasitic treatment. Animals from the streets often have many health problems and all of them are given a thorough health check and treatment, if necessary. No animal is euthanised without a medical indication and without good reason.
The NGO also supports the development of animal welfare in society as a whole and does its utmost to solve animal-related concerns.
All of this requires a lot of money and work. Starting from 2024, we operate ONLY on donations. Apart from three full-time employees and a part-time supervisor, we are all volunteers; all the money collected from donations goes to the animals. Your donation will help us save more animals in need – the injured, the starving, the abused. The more money we have, the more we can do, and the more animals have a chance of finding a warm and loving home through us.
