Estonian Fund for Nature: “Help protect bats!"
How does your donation help?
We want to share knowledge with and give advice to people who come into contact with bats so that their activity doesn’t damage this protected animal. Your donation will help us to prepare a code of conduct, give advice and help to people who come into contact with bats.
Bats often hide in attics and cellars where people can easily disturb them. However, it is possible to protect bats successfully without causing any problems for the owner of the building or damaging the building.
During the project, EFN bat expert Lauri Lutsar will answer people’s questions, go out to check the situation and give advice on how to use or renovate a building in a manner that is acceptable for both sides.
The examples collected in the course of the project will be used to prepare guidelines for bat-friendly house owners that are suitable for the conditions in Estonia. Raised awareness and changed behaviour will prevent the death of many bats.
The EFN is an NGO established in 1991 for the purpose of protecting the natural environment of Estonia. 1077 volunteers took part in the activities of the EFN in 2013.
The organization is included on the list of income tax incentive non-profit organizations and the donors will get back the income tax paid from their donation and the donations made by companies are tax-free (Estonian Income Tax Act § 49). Read more about taxes: Donating and taxes.
