By using guiding methods, Estonian Guide Association will create a beneficial environment for youth to develop their full potential by discovering who they are, being creativity and getting experiences.

Guiding method consists of:

  1. Serving the society - also “One good deed in a day” tradition
  2. Active cooperation between young and adult- inclusive leadership
  3. Teamwork, troop system and responsible leadership
  4. Respecting the nature, also activities outdoors
  5. Learning by doing method

Our society is strongly concentrated on consumption and it is necessary to find an alternative,  put an end to the bad habits and replace them with more eco-friendly, sustainable and cost efficient ways for our environment.

To help this cause, we will integrate themes as, environmental-friendly habits and ecological balance, into our Estonian-wide events. These important themes will be introduced by top specialists, who can shed some light into their everyday work, share experiences they have gained and hold a workshop.

To start with,  by gathering donations Estonian Guide Association will support up to 70 young people from large families so they could participate in the local and national level environmental events.

Secondly, Estonian Guides will support their members doing environmental based projects. For example some of those projects could be: visiting landfills and waste management centers; doing communal work; hikes or trips to nature and on the spot learning eco-friendly management etc.

Estonian Guide Association is a youth organization that has nearly 100 year long history and offers non-formal education to children starting from the age of 7. Younger children can participate in the activities with their families.

The organization is included on the list of income tax incentive non-profit organizations and the donors will get back the income tax paid from their donation and the donations made by companies are tax-free (Estonian Income Tax Act § 49). Read more about taxes: Donating and taxes.
