NGO Living with Dementia: the future is worth remembering
Although dementia is most common in older people, it is not a natural part of ageing. It is a gradual, morbid decline in mental abilities, resulting in a decline in a person’s welfare and ability to cope with everyday life. NGO Living with Dementia uses donations to organise memory cafés, where people with dementia can safely participate in joint activities. Your donation will help to make the lives of people living with dementia and their loved ones more joyful and active!

Peaasi.ee Mental Health Cafés open their doors on the last Saturday of each month in eight cities across Estonia, offering a space to listen and support people of all ages who experience mental health difficulties or are concerned about their loved ones. Our approximately 80 active volunteers, who have completed Peaasi.ee’s Mental Health First Aid training, are ready to help anyone in need of an understanding listener and a supportive atmosphere. Regular café activities began in early 2023 with two cafés in Tallinn and Tartu. By the end of 2025, we are active in eight cities and have provided help and support to more than 400 people in our monthly cafés, as well as to several hundred more at events such as the Song and Dance Festival and the Opinion Festival (arvamusfestival). Mental Health Cafés contribute to the community by offering the most accessible and immediate mental health support. “Visitors have said they feel lighter after the meeting and that they now have more information about where to seek help. Many have expressed gratitude simply for having a place where they can just be and talk.” /Anneli Meisterson, Coordinator of the Kuressaare Mental Health Café/ “I spoke with one person for two and a half hours about work, mental health, and burnout.
