How does your donation help?
We would like our support groups, day care camps and events to be accessible to everyone who need them, but it is often very difficult to find babysitters for children and young people
with autism. We have support group meetings every year and we would like to offer child-minding services for up to 6 children and young people with autism during
these meetings (in each support group). Participation in support groups improves the psycho-emotional coping ability of people with autism and is a way of offering more effective support for a family member with autism.
We often involve volunteers in organising our events, which enables us to promote a positive image of autism, the people with autism and their families through distribution of information on autism and people withautism to those who have no first-hand experience in this field.
Being part of the “I Love to Help” donation environment, we as a non-profit organisation can use the support from donors to supplement public service offers with services specific to autism that are not provided by the local governments or the state (support groups, babysitting service during support group meetings, and summer day care camps geared for the specific requirements related to autism).
Donations help us ensure a sufficient number of instructors in support groups and at the summer camp, as well as allow us to invite the best autism specialist to speak at support group meetings.
The Autism Society of Tallinn and Harju County was established in 2013 and it belongs to the nationwide umbrella organisation, the Estonian Autism Society. The Autism Society of
Tallinn and Harju County was created to enable all individuals, who have personal contacts through family or work with children or adults with autism to have a say in advocating sustainable improvement of the situation for people with autism. Over the course of our existence, we have organised many support group meetings, family days, summer camps and various events for children and young people with autism.
The organization is included on the list of income tax incentive non-profit organizations. Learn more about relevant tax topics: Donations and taxes
