How does your donation help?
For your donations, we are able to rescue several injured animals each day after they have been in a traffic accident or have been hurt otherwise. We can also respond to calls notifying us of abandoned or distressed animals. We provide them with immediate veterinary care and, if necessary, arrange for a temporary shelter and pay for the associated expenses. We also inspect the conditions in which animals are kept in the light of the requirements of the Animal Protection Act. We are involved in legislative initiatives and provide advice to animal owners. We cooperate with the Agriculture and Food Board, local authorities and animal shelters as required.
In addition to pets and domestic animals, we also help wild animals and birds. We can take them to a clinic, arrange for a temporary shelter and subsequent rehabilitation in the wild. In addition to an Estonia-wide network of shelters, the Union manages a cat shelters in Harju County and Tartu County, housing at least 50 cats at any given time. There are always at least 100 animals under the care and maintenance of the Union.
The Union for the Protection of Animals has a 24-hour helpline +372 5194 6146. We get about 6,000 or 7,000 calls with help requests per year, with a couple of thousand
animals receiving help directly from us.
The Estonian Union for the Protection of Animals relies solely on volunteers and donors. Your donations help us rescue more animals and make the world a better place!
