How does your donation help?
The “Orphan Support” project of the Self-Help and Advisory Association for Senior Citizens (VENÜ) plays an important role in the life of the children who are deprived of parental care, as well as the grandparents raising them. We support them because the grandparents of orphans are often pensioners who have limited resources for supporting the interests of their charges, whereas children thirst for new knowledge, new experiences, impressions and contacts.
The “Orphan Support” project provides grandparents with unique support by organising various visits to theatre, cinema and museum, as well as tours and other family activities. Currently, the project supports 20 families with 29 grandchildren and 25 grandparents.
The VENÜ “Orphan Support” project has been part of the donation environment for the past 10 years and has received very positive feedback from the supported families. The funds raised have increased with each year, which means more opportunities to offer families activities that match their interests. We hope that our communal activities create a bond between two different generation. In fact, we are seeing that it is already happening.
Thanks to you, dear donors, the five members of the project team are able to organise events and help the families that need our support.
Founded in 1995, the Self-Help and Advisory Association for Senior Citizens brings together nearly 400 retired members who work as volunteers. The day centre of the Association in Kadriorg is open on all weekdays; daily tasks are divided between 14 working groups, and the building provides rooms for 41 hobby groups.
For your donation of €5, we can pay for one session of a child’s manual dexterity development (2.5-3 hours).
For your monthly donation of €20 (i.e., €120 a year), we can provide one child with a place in the camp.
For your donation of €25, we can pay a monthly membership fee of a hobby group for one child.
The organisation is included on the list of income tax incentive non-profit organizations. Read more about taxes here: Donations and taxes.
